Annual Swiss Doctoral Workshop in Finance

Each year in June, FINRISK organizes an annual research workshop bringing together the best doctoral students and faculty from Swiss Universities with two distinguished professors from the USA.

The Workshop is an important setting for our doctoral students to present "work in progress" and gain valuable feedback from fellow students and from senior international researchers within the FINRISK research community.

In addition to the scheduled presentations, students arrange meetings with senior academics to further discuss their research in an informal academic atmosphere.

At the Workshop, students not only present their own work, but also make a detailed presentation about the work of a fellow student in the program.

A prize is awarded for the best research presentation, and also for the “best discussant” of a fellow student’s research. The award ceremony takes place at the Swiss Finance Institute Annual Meeting.

The Doctoral Workshop takes place at Study Center Gerzensee, near Bern. It is sponsored by the Swiss National Bank’s Study Center Gerzensee Foundation, the Swiss Finance Institute and the Swiss National Science Foundation through the ProDoc "PhD in Finance".
